Apparently they go into rut TODAY, October 25! I JUST had a doe and 2 fawns-yes fawns-not yearlings-eating grain 6 feet from where I stand in my picture window when out stepped a 2x2 buck who proceeded to sniff the first fawen, then the mother and ran after her as she took off. His head was down and nostrils flared. I am so excited as I've never seen a buck chasing in my life, and he was right in front of me !!
