You can either choose to get paid once a month or twice a month. You'll receive the full amount if you choose the former, or your monthly pay will be split in half for the latter and you'll receive it on the 1st and 15th of every month (excluding holidays, weekends, and differences in banks, which can bump up the date).

Usually, when you first begin basic training, you get paid on a monthly salary, which is usually around $1200 a month or so. Then, as you serve more time and your rank increases, your pay grade increases and you begin to earn more money. Also, once you enlist in the military, there are a bunch of third party companies you can contact which will let you apply for a military loan. This is usually a hefty sum of money; my friend got $5,000 from them in order to pay off his credit card debt! I've included a link to one such company in this answer. Hope this helped!

It took about a month after reporting in to BCT before I saw my first paycheck. We had the option to be paid either every two weeks or once a month.

well from what i know it varies of how long you stay in the army. usally people stay in for about 2-5 years and a years salary is probally about 100 grand if you are a e-2
