This refers to when Jesus returned to heaven after having completed His work on earth. Specifically it refers to the method He used, actually ascending into the sky, as witnessed by those who were present and reported it.
9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Ascension Day can fall anytime between April 30 and June 3. It occurs on a Thursday, on the 40th day of Easter, or 39 days after Easter Sunday.

We celebrate Ascension Day because that was the day Jesus walked out of that tomb to show us that our sins died with Him on the cross.
Ascension day falls always 40 days after the Easter and the month of it is May.
For the Catholic Church and many other 'daughter' churches, the holy day 40 days after their Easter Sunday is called Ascension Thursday.
Mennonites observe Ascension Day in many different ways. Some congregations have worship services in the morning, others in the evening, or not at all. Some Mennonites avoid working on Ascension Day, but will take site seeing trips or go visiting friends and relatives. Others work on Ascension Day and do not observe it. The decision on how to observe the day is usually left up to the particular congregation or family.
The Day of Lady Ascension celebrated mainly through Eucharist and procession. Eucharist is what is commonly referred to as holy communion or the Lord's table.
