When at high angles of attack.
Moving the rudder causes an airplane to yaw, which means the plane is remaining basically level, but is turning left or right.
Raise and Lower is PITCH Left and right is YAW
yaw rotation is a movement around the yaw axis of a rigid body that changes the direction it is pointing, to the left or right of its direction of motion.

The rudder
Pitch, Roll and Yaw
Pitch Yaw and Bank! -For Nathan
Typically the rudder is the only part of the aircraft that controls the yaw. Wind can act as a variable and affect the yaw but it is not a pilot induced or controlled movement
Pitch - The nose up, nose down movement Yaw - The nose left, nose right movement (like a car) Roll - The rotational movement where the wings bank left or right
The rudder is a part of the vertical stabilizer on an aircraft. When desired, it can move to the left, or the right. The rudder sticking out into the wind creates drag, which causes the aircraft to move along the Yaw axis (left to right).
The rudder directs the yaw to move side to side and left and right.
Yaw, pitch, and roll. (thrust is needed for any on of these to occur)
