According to my research, if your cyccle is 28 days in length, then you should ovulate around day 14. Women have shown to ovulate as early as day 8 and as late as day 22. You should read a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler.

Ovulation occurs midway through your cycle. You start counting the days from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP).

So for a 28-day cycle, ovulation would occur on the 14th day, provided that you are regular. That is, 14 days after the first day of your LMP.

For a 35-day cycle, ovulation would occur on the 17th or 18th day, provided that you are regular. That is, 17 or 18 days after the first day of your LMP.

Basically, ovulation may occur anywhere from 10-18 days after the first day of the LMP, on average, because many women are not regular.

You're most likely to ovulate around day 14 of your menstrual cycle - two weeks before menstruation. You will also be fertile for up to a week beforehand due to fertile quality cervical mucus, in theory then you'd be fertile between days 7-16 of your cycle. As cycles change you can't rely on this prediction to determine when you will be fertile, it's best to use Fertility Awareness Method to track your cycle so you know exactly when you're fertile.

The average woman's ovulation occurs on or about the 14th day of the cycle. If you monitor your cervical mucus, it will be the day that the cm is clear and heavy.

As a "general" rule, ovulation occurs approximately two weeks prior to the onset of menses. So, for a 28 day period, ovulation should occur around the 14th.

What days of their cycle do women ovulate?

Most women ovulate between day 10 and day 18 - earlier and later can still be normal.

How many days after period do you ovulate?

When you ovulate depends on your menstrual cycle. You ovulate two weeks BEFORE your period, so how soon after your period you ovulate depends on how long your menstrual cycle is.

If your menstrual cycle is 36 days when do you ovulate?

About day 22, my cycle was this long and that was exatly when I conceived.

Does a woman ovulate right after her menstural cycle?

That depends on the length of her cycle. The average cycle is 28 days, meaning that she would most likely ovulate 14-16 days in (counting from after the first day of the last period). But that isn't true for all women.

Is it possible to get pregnant during periods?

Technically no, but it depends on when you ovulate - sperm can last in the uterus for up to 5 days, and if you ovulate very early in your cycle, then it is technically possible to fall pregnant. But highly unlikely. Average cycle is 28 days long, the first day of your period is the first day of your cycle, so if your period is 5 days long and you have sex on the last day of you period, the sperm can live until day 12 of your cycle. Most women with a 28-day cycle will ovulate on day 14 of their cycle, so you can see how it could be possible to fall pregnant during your period. You usually ovulate 14 days before the start of your new period.

How fertile is a woman immediately after her period?

How fertile a woman is after menstruation depends on the woman and on her menstrual cycle. During the average 28 day cycle a woman is most likely to ovulate on day 14 and can be fertile between days 7-16 - if a woman's cycle is shorter she could ovulate directly after menstruation so be at her most fertile.

During a 40-day cycle do women ovulate on day 14 if it was regular?

Normally you get your period 14 days after you ovulate, so ovulation takes place around day 26 of a 40 day cycle. 14 days is the average and it could range from 12-16 days.

What type of cycle are you to ovulate?

for most women its 28 days. but its not always the same for all women.

Is the egg released on the fourteen day from the day your period started?

When you ovulate depends on your own menstrual cycle and it can change from one cycle to the next - you can sometimes tell when you are ovulating with testing kits but monitoring your cycle with fertility awareness method is the best way to determine when you ovulate. During a typical 28 day cycle a woman will ovulate 14 days BEFORE menstruation, which would also be 14 days into the menstrual cycle (the first day of your period is day one of your menstrual cycle).

How many days does it take to ovulate?

You only ovulate one day per cycle - although you may release multiple eggs over a 24 hour period, and with eggs surviving for up to 24 hours it means there may be a viable egg present for up to 48 hours. It takes your entire menstrual cycle to ovulate as it's a cycle, a domino effect of hormonal changes and functions occurring between aspects of your reproductive organs.

What is the period cycle?

The 14th day is when you ovulate in a 28 day cycle. Most cycles run 28-38 days and not shorter. If you are having a shorter cycle go to the doctor this isn't normal.

When does ovulation occur?

If you take the number of days of your cycle and divide it by two you will get a general day for ovulation. So if your cycle is 28 days you would normally ovulate on day 14, but this could change each cycle. My cycles are between 24 and 28 days so I ovulate earlier around day 11. You will have a clear sticky discharge around the day you ovulate. Normally it is a lot of discharge. You can get a basil body thermometer and take your temp every day when you wake up. Read the instructions on the thermometer and it will tell you how tell when you ovulate if you do not have the discharge.
