At the summit of Mount Everest there is approximately only 33% of the oxygen that is available at sea level. The higher you climb any mountain the less oxygen there is to breathe. This is why climbers carry oxygen cylinders on there backs to help them breathe more easliy.

The proportion of Oxygen to other elements is actually very similar to sea level, but the total amount of air or atmosphere is only about one-third that of sea-level, so there is about one-third as much oxygen as there is at sea level.
