Visitors are welcome to enjoy the Sikome Aquatic Facility at Fish Creek Provincial Park in Calgary starting June 16 until September 3. The facility's operating hours are 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily.
New this year, the facility is participating in the Kids Don't Float life-jacket program, a joint partnership between the provincial government and the Lifesaving Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories. The program promotes the use of life-jackets for children six and younger, and aims to increase child and water safety awareness through education. A life-jacket loaner station is available; however families are encouraged to bring their own life-jackets to the facility.
Opened in 1978, the Sikome Aquatic Facility is a man-made lake within Fish Creek Provincial Park. Visitors can be access the facility by Bow Bottom Trail S.E. or Sun Valley Boulevard S.E. off Highway 22X.
