The PlayStation network has been shutdown since April 20 2011. They are working round the clock rebuilding and strengthening the system and should have it back up within a week, Early May 2011 they will begin the procedure to restore services regionally. Only Sony will be able to say when the system is up and they have only said what is written below or available at the related links messages of May 10 and May 7 and the related question. Any other answer is not from them and is a Guess, Prank, or earlier estimate

The system was shut down for security reasons and in expected back online in early may 2011. The answer will be updated daily or as new information comes in.

As of May 16, 2011, the PlayStation Network is back online! To log on you need to do a System Update (30.6 or so) that takes a while to download and install. After the update downloads and installs, you need to change your PlayStation Network account password. Then you are able to get back online. No the PSN is down world wide
Supposed to have some services back up I.e. psn on may 3rd but we will see see related link or question
psn will be back up never for people in California. Jk it should be back up
Yes, though PlayStation says they will have it back up very soon

It was only down for about 6 weeks and came back up in early June 2011
They said this week and I believe north America will come up as a region and not state by state The only good information will cone from Sony PSN Like the related link that also has the latest postings
you need to have internet to do that then you sign up for psn and your there

The PSN Team is working around the clock to get PSN up and running once again. Hopefully soon.The PlayStation network was shutdown on April 20 2011.
