It depends on how bad your Diabetes is. Initially I had to test before meals, then two hours after a meal and then again at bedtime. Now I usually test a few times a week or more when I'm sick. My blood sugar has been running at pretty good levels. If in doubt, check with your doctor or nurse practitioner.
As regularly as possible. When diabetic, you cannot know if you should eat sugar or inject if you do not know where you blood sugar levels are. I tend to test:
When I wake up
Before meals
Before excercise
2 hours after meals
After Excercise
Before Sleep
Whenever I feel symptoms of being hyper or hypo
Well if your doctor has told you that you are a diabetic, you should start as soon as possible. You should check your glucose levels before you eat and, not necessary but best, before you go to bed. Also, if you begin to feel symptoms of low blood sugar, or high blood sugar. If your doctor tells you another method, follow his instructions.
Testing first thing in the morning, before eating, gives glucose levels after a time of fasting - this, apparently, is helpful for a doctor to know. If you test two hours after eating, you get an idea of how well your body handles food. This, also, is of interest to doctors.
Some people can get good a good result after fasting, but a less than good result two hours after eating. And vice versa.
I am not a health care professional, so please treat my answer as simply the opinion of a layperson (who has some personal experience with this matter).
before and after you eat...before bed would also be a good idea.
Around 15 minutes. It all depends on the person though
The best time to measure blood glucose levels is between 4 and 7 hours after a meal as this will give the most accurate reading. The normal level then is between 70 and 100 milligrams.
when should i take my blood sugar levels if i have diabetes type 2?
The best way to take care of diabetes is to follow your prescribed and any medications. You should also check your blood sugar often.
No. Glucose is a type of sugar and should not be taken if blood sugar is too high. This would only serve the increase blood glucose levels.

It could take up to about 4 hours for you to absorb enough sugar to stop shaking. ... when you get low blood sugar, you should eat or drink something with ... last more than a half hour after you get your blood sugar back to normal :)(L) i hoped that helped you !xx
A high blood sugar level (hyperglycemia) is when the level of glucose in your blood sugar is too high, for example if i tested my blood sugar (I have diabetes) and i was 15.7 I would have to take a correction dose to bring it down to its normal range of between 4-10 (I person without diabetes should be in the range of 4-7)
You should take your blood pressure regularly. Especially if you are overweight or have previous family conditions of heart attack. Lay off the salt!
diabetics should take care taking or oil of oregano, as it tends to lower blood pressure. What type of herb diabetics should take is cinnamon, as that helps regulate blood sugar. Hope this helps.
Rapid acting, Novolog/Humalog/Apidra
At least 4 times, especially before/after meals.
The best way to treat high blood sugar is to take doctor prescribed doses of insulin and/or medication daily. Diet and exercise should also be incorporated to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels. Garlic, bitter melon, cinnamon, alfalfa, and burdock have also been documented to help with high blood sugar.
