The car you just passed in your rear view mirror (not your side mirror).
Be sure you are in a passing zone.
Be sure you are not in a no passing zone.
To pass a vehicle on a two lane road, if the speed is 45 mph or above, make sure oncoming traffic is at least 1/2 a mile away. Then turn on your signal, check your mirrors and over your shoulder, move into the left lane, get at least two car lengths passed the vehicle you are passing, (see their tires and ground), then signal to get back into the right lane as long as they aren't speeding up. To pass on a freeway, watch the tires of the vehicle you are passing to make sure the driver isn't coming into your lane. If you are coming into their lane, make sure you can see their tires in the rear view mirror and make sure they aren't going faster than you. Then signal and come over.
mirror signal maneuver
Not sure if you are talking about a vehicle for a disabled person or a vehicle that is disabled on the side of the road. If its the former then there are no special lights. If its the latter then the hazard lights on the vehicle will either be amber in the front and rear or amber in the front and red in the rear. Most vehicles the hazards are amber in the front and rear though
When your car rear view mirror is set to see in the night it can mess with your ability to see in the day.You will have to make sure you switch it depending on what time of the day it is.
I'm not sure, my dad's 1992 GMC Sierra (Truck) got crushed behind a church by a Ford Explorer, and it broke the Rear View Mirror. So, i am not sure if it should.
You should be able to see both headlights of that vehicle in your rearview mirror before you pull back in front of it.
