All rain falls from clouds, but clouds that you see which don't have rain falling from them are just not raining because the cloud has not become saturated with water vapour. When it does become so, it will rain.
Condensation. That is how. Water evaporates, forms into clouds, and when they get too full of water, it falls back down as rain. White clouds never rain. Gray clouds will sometimes rain. The darker the cloud is, the more likely they will rain. The grayest/ darkest ones will undoubtedly also storm.
It doesn't rain on the moon. There is no water, and therefore no clouds to rain the water back down.
the clouds are the rain
ANSWER:Sleet is frozen rain.
When the rain falls from the top of the cloud, since Cumulonimbus clouds are big the rain freezes up and turns into a ball of ice before it hits the ground.
Freezing water vapor inside clouds makes sleet when it falls to the ground. Freezing rain is rain that is liquid when it leaves the clouds but freezes when it hits the ground.
If the water vapor freezes , it falls as snow.If the rain freezes on the way down it falls as sleet.

The difference is: Rain is part of the water cycle - water from the sea evaporates and condenses in clouds, where it falls as rain, however, acid rain is when poisonous gasses dissolve the rain in the clouds, and then falls as acidic rain.
Rain. Or precipitation.
The puddles from rain evaporates to the clouds and then falls as rain, snow, sleet or hail.. And it just continues.
