It's a unpredictable love-triangle that many fans(particularly, the supporting female proanagonists, Tifa Lockhear and Aerith Gainsbourgh fans) question it. Many fan-debate if Cloud did fall in love with Tifa or Aerith.

Cloud Strife, though, is the main character in Final Fantasy VII. He has spiky blond hair and is often seen carring a huge, wide sword, called a Buster Sword. His story is a VERY long one, which is why I would suggest playing all of the Final Fantasy VII games or just going to Wikipedia. Cloud Strife is the main character of Final Fantasy VII, he is a retired SOLDIER, which gives him the nickname Ex-SOLDIER. He meets lots of friends that he fights with, such as Tifa, Barret, Aerith, Vincent and lots more, their last boss is Sephiroth, the really scary guy made from Jenova. There is an extra movie call Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. Its the story after the game.
