Hillman Imp was created in 1963.
Built by the Rootes Group in England, the Sunbeam Imp was one of several "badge engineered" cars based on the Hillman Imp. The car sports a rear-mounted, 875cc sohc 4-cyl engine. It was an early mini-car, roughly the same size and weight as the original Mini-Cooper, but taller. Introduced in 1963, it was built until 1977. Note: Since Hillman was not a "household" name in North America, Imps were imported to the US under the more-familiar Sunbeam name.
