With his "drawing hands" His art work, drawings using tricks of perspective and tessellations, as well as some others of his pieces are affecting and singular creations. Use the links to view several and then the link to a list of selected works, many of which are hyperlinks to an actual picture of the drawing itself. After a few clicks, it will be obvious. It has been said that brighter and/or "more technical" people may enjoy his work more than other art lovers. Certainly after going through a dozen or two views of his works, it is unusual for a viewer not to be able to pick his work out. It is that unique.
The "Necker Cube" is an optical illusion credited to Swiss crystallographer Louis Ablert Necker who first published the cube in 1832.
Dutch artist M. C. Escher (1898-1972) used optical illusion in many of his artworks. One of which is "Belvedere" a lithograph print which was first printed in May, 1958. It shows a plausible-looking building which turns out to be impossible.
Another is his 1960 lithograph "Ascending and Descending", showing knaves constantly ascending/descending a castle's turret stairway that never goes anywhere.
He is apparently the most prolifically printed artist of the twentieth century.
The trouble is that he has made several different Butterfly compositions.
