The dwarf planet Eris was known as Xena by the team that discovered it's existence. This name was used informally by the team and the media. An official name would have to have a name from creation mythology according to IAU standards. The name "Persephone" has also been considered (it would have been fitting next to Pluto) but it is already the name of an asteroid.
Uh, since when is " xena" a planet? Because i never heard of it. Are you sure you didn't just make it up?
Any way, it is orange. Maybe. I dunno.
Xena was discovered in January 5, 2005. Xena was the informal name given at the time, the dwarf planet is now officially named Eris - since September 2006.
There is no planet but there is a minor planet called 881 Athene.

Xena, considered to be the 10th planet, was named after a character in the TV series Xena: Warrior Princess. As of 2014, only 1 moon is known to orbit the planet, and was named Gabrielle after Xena's faithful sidekick.
"Xena" was the humorous provisional name for the dwarf planet now known as "Eris".
Only the International Astronomical Union (IAU) can rule on the official names of things in the sky such as planets, comets, moons, and such. The name "Xena" was pre-chosen for the next planet that the discoverers found that was larger than Pluto, but the IAU decided that since this wasn't a planet and was not really the name of a Greek demigod, they chose "Eris" as the official name of the newly discovered "dwarf planet" after Pluto.
A number of names for the "tenth planet" were discussed; two popular ones were Xena, from the TV program, and Persephone, in Greek mythology the consort of Pluto. However, in 2006, the International Astronomical Union recategorized Pluto as a "dwarf planet", and the body tentatively named "Xena" was officially named Eris as another "dwarf planet". (There are three other named "dwarf planets" to go with Pluto and Eris.)

The dwarf planet "Eris" was originally nicknamed "Xena". So, Xena was the name of something that was thought to be a new planet, but is now classified as only a dwarf planet, like Pluto.

You probably mean "Xena". When you say Xena, it sounds like Zena. It is now called "Eris" and is classed as a "dwarf planet".

Eris (or Xena), is the largest known dwarf planet in the Solar System and the ninth-largest body known to orbit the Sun directly. It is 27% larger than Pluto. "Xena" was an informal name used by the discovery team.
No. "Xena" now known as Eris orbits much farther out than Ceres. Ceres is the innermost dwarf planet.
Black
UB313 was the unofficial name for Eris the largest known dwarf planet. Xena was used by the discovery team to denote UB313. So yes - Xena is UB313 is Eris
It was the discovery of "Eris" (originally nicknamed "Xena").
the tenth planet official name is2003 UB313 but it has nick name xena.
Astronomers searching for additional planets beyond Neptune had reserved the name "Xena" for the "warrior princess" of the 1990's TV show. When they discovered a planet larger than Pluto, they assigned that as a provisional name. After the IAU demoted Pluto from "planet" to "dwarf planet", the object tentatively named "Xena" received a permanent name of "Eris". Eris is believed to have one moon.
