Ferrari was established in 1929 as Scuderia Ferrari by Enzo Ferrari. At that time and for a number of years thereafter, they worked with the vehicles of other manufacturers. The first "real" Ferrari was the 125 S, which appeared in 1947 and had a 1.5 L V12 powerplant.
Tipo 815 in 1940 was the first car Enzo Ferrari produced. WW-2 halted everything: after the war the factory in Maranello started up for the first production cars. The first road car was a 1947 125 S featuring a 1.5 litre V-12 engine.
