When was the first electronic keyboard invented?
it was dylan doobs who invented this.
The earliest modern keyboard was created in 1964 when MIT, Bell Laboratories and General Electric created the MULTICS operating system. MULTICS used a video terminal and an electronic keyboard. For the first time, users could see what they typed on a screen. The layout of the keyboard is based off the typewriter (perhaps the first keyboard although not electronic) which was invented by Christopher Latham Sholes in 1868.
The hammered dulcimer could be called the first keyboard instrument ever. The dulcimer's origin is uncertain, but tradition holds it was invented in Persia, some 2000 years ago. It was the instrument that was implemented into the piano. And since the keyboard is an electronic piano, the hammered dulcimer it the first keayboard instrument made.
The term "piano keyboard" is used to refer to the keyboard on a piano and to a synthesizer. The first piano was built by Bartolomeo Cristofori. The synthesizer was invented by Elisha Gray in 1876. Mathew Roper invented the QWERTY keyboard in 1875 when he produced the first commercial typewriter. The invention of the computer keyboard (QWERTY keyboard) starts with the typewriter.
