The Gullotine was supposedly invented by Joseph-Ignace Guillotine in 1791 during the French Revolution. Interesting fact: In France, on October 6, 1791, a law was passed that "every person condemned to death should be beheaded".

On April 25, 1792 the first victim of the device was a highwayman named Nicolas Jacques Pelletier. The crowds marveled at the machine's speed and precision.

:D

supposebly should read supposedly.

Another interesting fact, If your mother was caught performing sexual actions with another being, she was forced to make a porno. If not, she was beheaded by the Guillotine.

In its "modern" form, it was invented in 1792 by a parisian surgeon named Antoine Louis and built by a piano-builder named Tobias Schmitt. to be true, it was an improvement of an already existing device.

Contrary to the common belief, Joseph Ignace Guillotin had not invented the guillotine. His name was given to the machine by a journalist (Camille Desmoulins) who wanted to take his revenge after Guillotin, who was a kind of Intendant in the National Assembly, had fired him for bringing alcohol, food and prostitutes during the Assembly's sessions. The name stuck because Guillotin, a doctor, was the one to propose it to the parliament who adopted it.

The irony is : Camille Desmoulins was executed in 1793 during "La Terreur" while Guillotin died in his bed in 1821.

Who invented the guillotine?

Joseph Guillotine had never invented the device. He only proposed to find a mechanical and "more human" mean to carry death penalty to the National Assembly in 1789. The machine was invented by a surgeon - Antoine Louis- in 1792. Actually, it is a journalist named Camille Desmoulins who gave the name of Guillotine. It was a revenge because Guillotine had fired him off the National Assembly for bringing food, alcohol and prostitutes) . But at that time, the machine was not invented yet. Guillotine died in his bed in 1814 due to an infected carbuncle on his shoulder.
