In November 2008, 30 states in the US sold gas at under $2 a gallon. This was the first time gas had fallen below $2 a gallon since March 2005. It didn't last long though. By May of 2009 the national average climbed above $2 a gallon again and has never dipped below $2 since.

Gas was below three dollars a gallon just a few months ago. Gas dropped to under three dollars, but then increased again.

It depends on the sheen, but last time I checked about 2 months ago, $45 per gallon.
according to my dad it was 5 gallons for a dollar From 1930 to 1939 the average cost of a gallon of Gasoline was $.10 (ten cents) per gallon or 10 gallons per dollar. Before shipping, it was $160.80 last time I got it.
I'm not sure about other states, but in Oklahoma, the late 80's was the last time gas was $.80.
2008. This is just a national average. In NY, I can't remember the last time it was even below $3.
