I looked up the history of the phone to try to find out just when the wall phone came into service. Nothing gave that info. I did find out after the invention of the phone in 1876 that 10,000 phones were in use and in 1891 Almon Strowger invented the first phone switch which gave us the first dialed systems. In 1920 the "French receiver" was in use and in 1949 At&T combined the first handset with a ringer in the 500 model. It took until 1963 for Western Electric to produce the push button model called the 1500. Dr. Raymond Phillips from 1956-1958 invented the first cordless phone, but it wasn't until 1969 that George Seveigert created the modern cordless phone. As you can see there is nothing about when the phone was placed on the wall. I do know from photos that I have seen in books that by 1920's phones were placed on walls, but this is just a guess as far as dating the wall phone.
