About l9l5 the Warren AC clock was introduced stepped to the 60-=cycle alterations of modern AC Power. Digital clocks came out a little-later and were widely used in the twenties often by Banks, using Red Neon tubes. The Con Ed engineer William Joseph Hammer is credited with the invention of the Orthographic sign ( like H-E-R-M-A-N-S) spelllingout words- which led to, eventually the digital clock.
