Some people say the earth will die in 2012. Some people say the earth will die in 2014. But the truth is no one knows when the earth will die. The earth will not die in 2012 or 2014. People just say that because the earth is going to go through changes but not bad enough to kill the earth. So don't worry we, the people, are not going to die.

Earth can end in many ways.

It's possible that when the sun expands into a red giant in a few billion years that it will engulf the Earth, but there's some disagreement on that: it may simply expand enough to burn the Earth to a cinder without actually consuming it. In that case, what's left of the Earth will probably last until the Big Rip or the Big Crunch (if either of those theories turn out to be correct).

Short of that, there are lots of people predicting various things, but lots of people have predicted the imminent end of the Earth before and obviously none of them have been right yet; there's no good reason to believe the current crop will be any more accurate than earlier ones were. However, some people believe that Earth will end on the date December 21, 2012. Who knows? No one but God! == It is impossible to predict the "end" of the earth. A large rock from space might remove humans and most other species from its surface, as this has happened in the past. Additionally, a cosmic ray blast could incinerate much of the life here. As regards the destruction of the planet itself, the sun, when it expands to become a red giant, will devour it entirely. Because of the variables as regards the type of "end" here, there is no way to predict when it will occur.
Maybe in a billion years the sun will expand and the ocean will boil away and all life will die and the world will end.

scientifically if the world were never to be polluted by what we have today the earth should live for another 5 million years. from another veiw some people think that the earth will end from a big comet in 2013 because the comet will send the earth into another ice age.

The world will end when the sun gets way to BIG than it will eat up Mercury... and all the other planets. (sorry if this is scaring u, but its true)
My opinion i think 2030 or sooner because they say in 2010 the a 5 mile meteor will come past earth but will not hit us. The government is hoping it won't hit us.

I heard some rumors about the earth ending in 2012. But that might not be true but really no one knows when the earth is going to end. look up the answer "what happens on 12-12-12?" and it will tell you but the story is real i wrote it! but the world wont end then who knows when the world end?

In about 5 billion years the sun will expand into a red giant and most likely swallow Earth. Earth will then turn not to dust, but to hot plasma.
