Yes, but you are only really seeing yourself from one angle, and you are looking directly into your eye. You are also seeing a mirror image of yourself, in a picture the image would be reversed. Try facing slightly away from the mirror, and looking slightly away, just look at yourself through the corner of your eye. Alternatively, get hold of a second mirror and see yourself from other angles.

Your dog is not guarding you from YOUR reflection, she is guarding you from HER reflection. Humans tend to forget that, while dogs are incredibly smart, they still don't know that a mirror shows a reflection because they don't know what a reflection is. Therefore, because she doesn't know what a mirror is, she doesn't know what she looks like and thinks that her reflection is another dog. That's why she brings her toys to the mirror. Not to look at herself, but to try and play with her reflection. She thinks its another dog to play with. She guards you from the "other dog" because she is being possessive of you, saying, "Back off, she's mine and you can't have her."
