Try the monitor on another computer to make sure its not the monitor.
If the monitor works on a different computer than you will narrow your search to the PC itself. If the monitor does not work in a different PC check the monitors cords and check the pins on the parallel cable, make sure they are not bended or broken if they are bended try to straightened them out.
if its not the monitor and works in a different PC its your PC go to your control panel and head to power options and tweak it around.

This is actually coming from your monitor. I am assuming you cannot get a picture on your screen. It is telling you it cannot detect any input signal. You just need to check where the monitor cable is plugged in and ensure its in the right spot.
That is the monitor telling you which of its video input ports it is seeing valid signal on and has selected to display (if more than one port has a valid signal).
