When did the Backstreet Boys get together?

They met on the 2010 X Factor after they auditioned as solo artists but were put together by the judges to form a group after they failed to get through boot camp on their own.

Let me add to that...... they all auditioned for the x factor and they all failed, the judges thought they wold be good as a band so the judges called them all back. They came back and met each other, talked, and the judges told them to work together and make a band. So they did, in front of judges and they liked it Alot, could not believe there eyes, but sadly they still weren't aloud back on the show. Some good news tho, all the boys were noticed and they all were surprised how they worked together and how the judges liked them so much, and how they got noticed. So they decided to all work together, as a team. After that they became more noticed, then they became famous! And now are famous and rich!

They all met in Orlando, Florida in 1993. Howie Dorough wanted to start a group so he asked his friend A.J. to join. Howie & A.J. knew each other from talent shows and became friends. Then they asked Nick, who they also met in a couple talent competitions and he joined. There were a couple of people who came and "joined" but their voices didn't mix well with the three. They met Kevin while he was working in Universal Studios. He soon joined. The four need a last member. Kevin called his cousin Brian. Brian came down and they became the backstreet boys (named after a teen hangout called Backstreet market) The Backstreet boys found an ad in a paper about auditions for a group of 5, ages 12 to 20. The ad said they wanted a group with a look of the New kids on the block but the voices of Boyz II Men.
