Should be on the cam sprocket, on the pulley for the crank and stamped triangle on the block. On the SOHC (non-gsi), it's on the middle part of the crank pulley, the ridge that is in between the steering and alternator belts. You will not be able to see it. It is a tiny nick that you can just barely feel with your finger nail. I have no idea why they did not make it more visible at the factory. Once you find it, put some white out on your finger and reach down there and dab it. Don't do what I did and spill a whole bottle down the side of the motor.
Answer: The ignition timing on a 1990 Geo Storm is 10 degrees BTDC. This applies to both the SOHC and DOHC 1.6L engines.
You ask a professional for help.
There should be a mark on your crankshaft pulley and several marks on the lower timing cover. You may have to clean them off in order to see them.
The timing marks on a 1993 Geo Metro are located on the on the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets. They must be aligned together to ensure proper initial timing.
The 1996 Geo Tracker 1.6 liter engine timing marks can be found on the outside of the main pulley. The timing marks will be scattered around the pulley.
Very carefully!
