You seem to already know the importance of antivirus software so I will spare you the explanation. A good and usable antivirus program must be fast, reliable, accurate and light on system resources. There are many programs out there. You don't necessarily have to pay to get adequate protection. I've been using Avast Free Antivirus for three years now and I recommend to all people. Avast is fast, has accurate scan results, easy to use and ofcourse free. You can download it from

∙ 12y agoThe best antivirus available (any systems administrator will tell you) is Microsoft Security Essentials. It's entirely free, so you don't have to worry about the annual fees. There's no charge for updates as well.
