If you want a blog for instance, you can try Blogger

If you want to do more you can try Squarespace

It is best to compare though. There are better blogging sites and better free website pages too.

There are many website builders. You can make one for free at webs, wix, doodlekit, webnode, weebly. I personally think they are all good, but you can pick whatever one looks good to you. The Webs website is a community and website building so if you want to start a club you could choose that. Doodlekit is one where you can have members to your website, you can do that on webs too.

If your looking for simplicity I would say take a look at Wix, they currently offer a very easy to use web design tool.

But this does have its limitations in what you can achieve. you could also look at themes and Wordpress. At My Little Web Designers they use wordpress CMS (content management system) on all sites for start ups and small businesses.

It all depends on what your hoping to achieve, if your looking to build websites yourself for a living or hobby then you may be better getting Dreamweaver and spending time learning your craft.

Another alternative would be squarespace. This is not something I have much in experience with but I believe its a website builder similar to wix. May not be as simple.
