Well there are many places. For example, there are some in many of the holes in Termina field. When you find a hole that has a deku plant that only sticks straight up or if you just happen to encounter one walking around just cut it and it will drop a deku stick. There's also one in the cave above the waterfall in the area where the house that the guy that tempers your sword (sorry I forgot what the area is called) is. And there's also some at the swamp and in the Woodfall temple. I also think you can buy some at the store where you can also buy other supplies that is next to the curiosity shop in west clock town (sorry I forgot the name of the store). Also, after you kill one of these deku plants if you wait near its remains for about 10 seconds another one grows so you can fill up your stock of deku sticks with one plant if you are patient enough.
