Tons of them on EBAY right now, standard large ring Mauser 98 bolt. The EBAY ones have the bolt turned down for a scope which is what you need. The Model 50 Rifle was made by FN on their 300 deluxe action. It is worth the bolt fitting. They are a premium rifle. I have a Model 270 and love it. The same basic action was used by Weatherby in the early 50's. IMPORTANT! It will have to be fitted by a gun smith for safety, headspace etc can and probably will be off. Do not insert and fire a round until a gunsmith checks it. DA.

Made in 2003. You will have to call Browning to find the model.
.30-06
The model J C Higgins model 50 was built by High Standard using the FN Mauser action made in Belgium. It was available in 2 calibers, the .30-06 and .270. The J C Higgins model 51 was the same rifle except it had a stock that had a cheek piece and checkering. All of the model 50 & 51 rifles that I have and have had, shot very well.

Which Higgins .30-06?
Which model? The first Browning bolt rifle was introduced in 1959 and was available in .30-06
It is not possible for you to have a "Model 97" in 30-06. The Winchester Model 97 is a shotgun, and was made in 12-gauge of 16-gauge. The only Winchester models that were or are chambered for the 30-06 rifle cartridge are the Model 54 bolt-action rifle, and the Model 70 bolt-action rifle series.
