This is a difficult question to answer. If you have had no experience PAT Testing then you really should go on a one day course or use an at home PAT Testing Training DVD.

There is the IEE Code of Practice that outlines the regulations and methods of PAT Testing but can be hard to take in without some formal training.

There is a good handbook about to come out that covers PAT Testing, but again it is still advised you do a course as its more complicated than you might first think.
