Hi,
i buy all of my Siamese fighting fish or betta at patty's markets on Saturdays. they have many different colours and they are ranged between $3- $5 they are quite cheap though last for a long time. I had one that lasted 5 years, with good care.
For the one you commonly find in pet stores, it's a fancy variety of Betta splendens. The wild B.splendens is green/red and has short fins. There are about two dozen, maybe more to be discovered, other species of Betta also. Such as B.imbellis and B.smaragdina.
No they cannot, also if you put two Betta fish together, they will fight.

There are so many different colour variations of Betta that red streaks in blue fins are quite common as are blue streaks in red fins. All it means is that the fish are cross bred.

Betta fish are usually multiple colors like turquoise on the tail fin and blue on the body and purple on the top fin. They can be one color like red and light red and dark red.

Betta fish do not eat fish.
No betta fish are carnivores.
You can find some Albino Bettas at pet stores or wherever fish are sold. I found an Albino Betta at Petsmart but they might not always sell them there. You can check back there every month or so to see if they got new shipments.
