True silver dollars haven't been minted since 1935 so you'd have to buy one from a dealer or collector. As of 05/2010 expect to pay a minimum of about $15 for one of these coins.

If you're using the term "silver" dollar to refer to modern clad copper-nickel or brass dollars, most banks should be able to provide them. These coins are common and are only worth $1.

You can't, at least in the US. The last true silver dollars were minted in 1935 and minting of copper-nickel $1 coins was suspended from 1982 to 1998.
