Ryan later reveals in Season 6 he did not go to Thailand, rather Ft. Lauderdale (Florida). Ryan, along with Michael and Pam, where then bought out and given jobs back at Dunder-Mifflin. Ryan was then demoted to temp because there were not enough clients to justify keeping both Pam and Ryan as salesmen. Ryan, as of the end of Season 7, is still employed as a temp at Sabre/Dunder-Mifflin.
