Spain's conquistadors went on many vast conquests of Central and Southern America defeating the Aztec and Incan empires. Explorers such as Francisco Pizarro and Hernando Cortez are among the most famous Spanish conquistadors. Spain profited from the discovery of new technologies in the New World, the enslavement of many natives, and the wealth of gold they found throughout the Native American cities. They also were able to bring a multitude of natural resources from the Americas back to Spain to be manufactured and made into products to be sold, also increasing it's wealth.
