The USS New York is a warship that was built with 24 tons of the scrap metal from the Twin Towers.
Much of the other rubble was taken to the Staten Island landfill. Each bucket of rubble was sifted through by investigators, and bone fragments were saved.
Other steel beams were used as memorials. Tampa has one of these memorials on Bayshore Boulevard, near MacDill Air Force Base.
