Caliburn is a legendary sword associated with King Arthur in Arthurian legend. It is often considered to be the sword that Arthur drew from the stone, proving his right to the throne. Some versions of the myth also refer to it as Excalibur, although the two names can represent different aspects of Arthur's sword in various tales. The origins of the name "Caliburn" are believed to trace back to Latin and Welsh influences.

What happens in sonic and the black knight?

The story of Sonic and the Black Knight starts when King Arthur in the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table is bewitched by the power of Excalibur's scabbard and becomes the Black Knight. Then Merlina, the wizard Merlin's granddaughter, summons our blue hero to the storybook world to save the kingdom Camelot from the Black Knight. Before being summoned, Sonic was waiting for a date with Amy, who will be really angry if Sonic left her. After meeting Merlina, Merlina tells Sonic about the problem with King Arthur and his fabled kingdom Camelot. Then she tells him about Nimue, The Lady of the Lake and the sacred sword Caliburn. Then Sonic runs to go get the sword Caliburn, and pull it out of the stone. After pulling Caliburn out, Sonic finds out that the sword has a mind of its own. Then King Arthur comes to fight Sonic, then Sonic almost defeats him, but the Black Knight cannot be defeated as long as he has the scabbard. King Arthur then insults Sonic, and runs off with his horse. The sword Caliburn tells Sonic that he agrees with King Arthur, then Sonic calls him a "Sad excuse for a teacher."Sonic also finds out that the scabbard's former owner is The Lady of the Lake and he runs off with Caliburn to meet her. But Caliburn says that his "edge has grown blunt" and has to be "presentable" before meeting Nimue. So they head off to the blacksmith but Merlina gets distracted by a wilting flower and wonders why flowers bloom, knowing that they are destined to wither. She then tells Sonic and Caliburn to go on without her because she will be recognized in town. So Sonic says "So long for now." and heads for the blacksmith. Once they're there, Sonic notices that the blacksmith looks an awful lot like his buddy Tails, then asks him if he can sharpen Caliburn. The blacksmith says he can and in no time, he's finished. Then they're on their way to Nimue but meet trouble on the way. Sonic encounters Lancelot, a knight of the round table that greatly resembles Shadow the Hedgehog, and fights him. After defeating him, they finally meet the Lady of the Lake, who looks so much like Amy Rose, that Sonic almost made a run for it. Then Nimue gives Sonic and Caliburn three tests, and they're ready to do them. So they run off. On their way, they find a crying girl who tells them that a dragon took her "mommy, daddy, and everybody away. WAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" So Sonic slays the dragon and meets Gawain, who has a striking resembelence with Knuckles. Sonic defeats him and meets Percival, who looks exactly like Blaze the Cat. Sonic struggles to defeat her but after finding a way to defeat her, she thinks of herself as a disgrace and purposely falls into lava, but Sonic saves her and Caliburn calls Sonic a true knight. Sonic is finally called Sir Sonic for being caring. Then Sonic battles King Arthur once more and finally defeats him. Then Sonic becomes the king, and that's the end of the True Knight's Story.
