For a 1988 Nissan Sentra, it is generally recommended to use 10W-30 motor oil. However, depending on the climate and driving conditions, 5W-30 may also be suitable. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations and consider using oil that meets API (American Petroleum Institute) standards for that model year. Regular oil changes are crucial for maintaining engine health.
