You'll start your adventure with Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle from Professor Oak.
Yellow:
Bulbasaur - Bulbasaur can be obtained from a girl named Melanie. She is located in Cerulean City in a house next to the Pokemon center. Make sure Pikachu is happy first.
Charmander - It can be obtained by a trainer north from Nugget Bridge. He is on the north-west raising platform in Route 25.
Squirtle - Once you get the Thunder Badge, talk to Officer Jenny, who is in the center of the town. She'll give you Squirtle.
FireRed and LeafGreen:
You'll start your adventure with Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle from Professor Oak. You'll need to trade or cheat for Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip.
HeartGold and SoulSilver (You can travel to Kanto):
You can choose Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle from Professor Oak after obtaining all 16 Gym Badges.

∙ 12y agoFirst get all of the hoen Pokemon and get the national dex in Pokemon emerald then get the johto starters from professer birch get them all using the hint of getting them all then send them all to your Pokemon FireRed.
Then you have the all!

∙ 11y agoYou can't "find" them in Pokemon FireRed, you can however trade Pokemon from your Gold, Silver or Crystal games over to FireRed. And, in Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver it's two inter-joined regions so you can find Pokemon from the Kanto and Johto region in the same game; but not specifically Pokemon FireRed.

∙ 12y agoAll the johto starters are not available in firered or leafgreen you will need to trade them from a completed emerald game OR if you send the purified bayleef, crocanaw and quilava from pokemon colosseum then breed it you will hatch a Chikorita egg, Cyndaquil egg and Totodile egg. Also if you finish Mt battle with out switching out in pokemon xd gale of darkness you can recieve one of the johto starters if you do this 2 more times you can get the other two.

Kanto/Hoenn-migration. Also for Johto but you must migrate from Emerald, after beating the league in Emerald, you go to the Safari Zone and there'll be a new area. In the new area you can find Johto Pokemon including the starters (the starters are EXTREMELY rare to find though.)
