∙ 13y agoGiovanni Paisiello and Gioacchino Antonio Rossini composed operas of this name. Paisiello's came first (1782), and Rossini's followed in 1816. Rossini at first called his verson 'Almaviva, ossia L′inutile precauzione', to distinguish it from the pre-existing work.
