blood leaves the left ventricle through what blood vessel
Atrioventricular valves are two in number. Mitral valve is between the left atrium (upper chamber) and left ventricle (lower chamber). Tricuspid valve is between the right atrium (upper chamebr) and right ventricle (lower chamber). Mitral valve closes when the left ventricle contracts, to prevent back flow of blood into the left atrium. Tricuspid valve closes when the right ventricle contracts. Hence the blood from the ventricles are able to go out of the heart into the blood vessels during ventricular contraction. Mitral and tricuspid valves open when the ventricles relax, permitting blood to enter the ventricles from the atria. This blood is pumped out when the ventricles contracts next time.
open
Right atrium-receives o2 poor blood Left atrium- receives o2- rich blood Right ventricles- sends o2- poor to lung Left ventricle-sends o2- rich blood to body by the way i got all the info from my science teacher
The wall of the ventricles is thicker than the walls of the atria as they have to be stronger as they have to pump the blood around the body where as the atria only have to pump blood into the ventricles
when right ventricle contracts the blood goes to "lung" and when left ventricle contracts the blood goes to all part of our body. Correct, more specifically, throught the pulmonary artery on the right, and through the arota on the left side of the heart into systemic circulation.
Magically.
aorta; it pumps blood to all parts of the body except the lungs (breaks into smaller arteries that go to each segment of the body)
No. The blood is always pumped in one direction.
The left Ventricle pumps blood out to your body
it relaxes
Both have thier own pacemakers
Both! Blood enters the atria (upper chambers) on both sides of the heart at the same time. Blood from the body, carrying carbon dioxide, enters the right atrium. Blood from the lungs, carrying oxygen, enters the left atrium. The two atria contract together, pumping the blood into the two ventricles (lower chambers). The ventricles then contract, pumping blood out of the heart. Blood from the right ventricle goes to the lungs, where it loses its carbon dioxide and picks up oxygen. It then goes to the left atrium. Blood from the left ventricle goes to the body, where it delivers oxygen and picks up carbon dioxide. See: http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/body/factfiles/heart/heart.shtml
