Sub-Saharan Africa is a term used to describe the entire region of Africa that is South of the Saharan Desert. Since it includes most of Africa, it's easier to just tell you which countriesare not part of sub-Saharan Africa. Those countries are Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Western Sahara. The northern regions of Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Chad, and Sudan are also not included in sub-Saharan Africa. Every other country in Africa is part of the sub-Saharan region.
