They're on the expansion tank (bottle) back left of the engine compartment (when looking in from in front of the car)
you'll find it mounted in the top of the radiator.
The thermostat on a Peuget 206 is located on top of the engine, under the upper radiator hose. It controls the flow of coolant out of the engine.
There could be a number of reasons. Damage to the radiator, damage to the pipes and hoses linking to the radiator. Water pump failure. Head gasket failure.

The Peugeot 206 is a subcompact car. One has to remove the full light to change indicator bulb. A spanner can be used to remove the light cluster. Break the spanner off, and rebuild.
Drain the water from your radiator. Remove the top and bottom radiator hoses. Remove the radiator stabilizing bolts. Remove the radiator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new radiator.
