Firstly, the graphics on he DX version are better, with slightly upgraded character models etc. There is also the ability for Knuckles and others to go to the tracks in twinkle park (in DX) Whithin the chao garden there is a shop in DX, but none in the older game. And DX also has a mission mode (not sure if that is in both though) I hope this helped
