Heater Core. The heater core is located inside the heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) unit under the dash. It is out of sight so you cant see a leak directly. But if the heater core is leaking (or a hose connection to the heater core is leaking), coolant will be seeping out of the bottom of the HVAC unit and dripping on the carpet. Look for stains or wet spots on the bottom of the plastic HVAC case, or on the passenger side floor. Leak in heater core
A damaged heater core will cause coolant or water to leak onto the passenger floorboard.
Have the coolant system pressure tested, the pressure test will increase the coolant leak.
If that water is engine coolant, the heater core is leaking.
A poor seal or a split.
If you see coolant Inside the vehicle on the passenger side, The Heater Core would be the problem. If the leak is out side and you see a puddle on the ground below the engine from the passenger side, It can be a Water pump, Heater hose, Over flow from the Reservoir tank, or an intake manifold gasket. If the leak is more underneath the vehicle on the passenger side, It might be a Heater Hose and/or Heater Pipe which supplies the rear heater with coolant (if the vehicle is equipped with rear heat) .

If the drain plug under the evaporator coil is plugged up it will cause condensation to leak into the car. If the heater core is bad it will allow coolant to leak into the car. If the leak is warm and smells sweet it is the heater coil.
It could be a freeze plug but it also is not uncommon for the intake manifold gasket to blow out and allow engine coolant to leak out.
Is it water or coolant? If it's water, you probably have a leaky windshield seal. If it's coolant you could have a heater control valve leak.
