Depends on what you are after, species wise. In a river, look for large rocks or debris that slow the current down. Fish often hide in these eddys to ambush prey. In a lake, look for weedbeds , laydowns, or stumps, rocky points. In the ocean, surf fishing is simple enough, look for sandbars or jetties, anything that may provide structure for gamefish.

∙ 13y agoRock Bass can be found in small rivers and creeks where there is a vary of deep pools and submerged structures (dead trees in the water). They like a variety of spinners, spoons and fresh bait (minnows, warms, grubs, etc.).
Lake Michagan use a spinner bait when its sunny and they bite all day.

For punk rock, I would get a Fender P-Bass. The sound has attitude, which is very good for punk rock. And for metal, I would get a Stingray. Stingrays have a solid, powerful sound. An alternative for a metal bass besides Stingray is a Warwick, they sound quite like the Stingray, except they're not as good for bass rifts and popping. Hope I helped. Keep on playing. :)
