In a 1999 7.3L Turbo Powerstroke engine, the cylinders are arranged in a V8 configuration. The cylinder numbering starts from the front of the engine, with cylinders 1 through 4 on the driver's side (left bank) and cylinders 5 through 8 on the passenger's side (right bank). Specifically, cylinder 1 is the frontmost cylinder on the driver's side, while cylinder 8 is the rear cylinder on the passenger's side.
