key west is located at the southern tip of a string of islands know as The Florida Keys. leaving Miami you travel south along a highway which could arguably called the longest bridge in the world as it hops from island to island until you reach the very end of the chain arriving at key west. at the southern most tip of key west is a marker showing that Cuba is the next nearest land mass. hope this helps.
