North America is located north of South America. The two continents are connected by a narrow strip of land called the isthmus of Panama, on which are found the central American countries such as Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica etc.

The top of the north American continent comprises territory belonging to the United States (Alaska) and Canada which partially encircles the Arctic Ocean (where Polar Bears come from)and in which the North Pole is located.

The tip of the south American continent extends down to Patagonia, a region located at the southern end of south America and territory shared by Argentina and Chile. This tip points at the Antarctic continent (where penguins are found) an on which the South Pole is located.
