standing in the front of the engine, it will be on the left rear side of the engine towards the bottom. It's hard to see from the top.
check grounds and check positive cable it may have a lot of resistance

Just start it as you normally would. If the new fuel pump was installed properly and there were no other problems with the engine, it should start after turning over for a few seconds. It'll take a few revolutions of the starter for the new pump to build up some pressure in the line.

If it has a 1978 motor, then no...I tryed this similar thing and the holes don't match up exactly. The manufactorers make two diff. versions for your truck, ask your parts store to verify which starter to use.
